  • its mission matches your cause
  • its needs match your skills
  • it offers adequate orientation, training and on-going education
  • it provides evaluation and welcomes your feedback
• Be prepared to provide
  • an interview
  • references
  • police record
• Beware of over-commitment that might lead to burnout
• Be honest with your feelings especially if the work assigned is not right for you
• Be professional as you represent the agency you serve
• Be joyful, enthusiastic and don’t leave your sense of humour behind.
